Common Criteria-Ratings bewerten und zertifizieren die Sicherheitsmerkmale von IT-Produkten
St. Louis, Missouri – July 7th, 2025 – Belden Inc., a leading global provider of complete connection solutions, is pleased to announce that its macmon Network Access Control (NAC) software has achieved a rigorous new certification for cybersecurity assurance. The macmon NAC solution has received the Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 2+ rating under the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation, an international standard for security certification.
The new certification recognizes macmon NAC, which enables transparency, secure authentication and granular access control in critical networks, as an inherently secure and high-quality NAC solution. The EAL rating reflects the security requirements against which the macmon NAC was evaluated. The EAL 2+ rating is highly relevant for critical infrastructure companies, especially for the public sector, and is applicable to both OT and IT environments.
- Detection and identification of all active endpoints in the network
- Authentication of all endpoints using their MAC address and 802.1X access data
- Manual or automatic/policy-based network access controls
- Monitoring of the network and authorized endpoints at runtime
- Report generation for network events
The Common Criteria are recognized by more than 30 countries worldwide, including the U.S., Germany, India, France and the UK. The certification was issued by the German Federal Office for Information Security or Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI). The certificate number is BSI-DSZ-CC-1180.
